This is a continuation of my post from April 17th on finding the perfect pair of jeans: my story. I have been struggling for the past couple years with low rise jeans–I am tall and generally slim but like most women my age I have a ‘soft’ midsection (with a recent 10 pound weight gain only aggravating the situation) so I was a victim of the infamous ‘muffin top’. It drove me crazy! I would try on my old jeans and take them off because inevitably I would see the bulge and be horrified—I could not be seen in public like that! I owned over 8 pairs of jeans and I was at a point in my life when none of them flattered me. So imagine my joy when I found my perfect pair using www.zafu.com. They listed NYDJ (acronym for Not Your Daughters Jeans) as a great fit for me and the name intrigued me but even more, the strategic design of the jean that promised to “tuck” the tummy in. It also was designed with a higher rise—the perfect solution to muffin top! So I went to my local Nordstrom’s to try them on. I need a 34+” inseam and thankfully I just made the cut with this jean. It fit perfectly and I even could wear a size smaller (what woman does not want that!). I bought the straight cut design so it has been perfect to tuck in boots–a look I have been ‘rocking’ all winter/Spring. Since purchasing the pair this has become my default jeans. I put them on and I don’t have to worry about a thing. It has changed my casual clothing life–I can wear jeans and feel great in them again!! These jeans make me feel sexy (bonus: a great look for my booty), comfortable and fashionable. Finding this jean has absolutely changed the way I think of jeans as part of my wardrobe staples. I recommend this jean for women who value a higher rise and needs a little help in the tummy area. Or even younger woman who are not slaves to low riders. The rise is not so high that it looks old fashioned. And it comes in different washes so it looks totally up to date. My second favorite pair since using zafu.com? Lucky Brand Easy Rider stretch jeans in a 36” inseam. A lower rise than my NYDJ’s but amazingly no muffin top. And so comfortable with a button fly!
