Finding the Perfect Sunglasses for your Face Shape

The summer sun is shinning! What are you doing to protect your eyes? With so many sunglasses shapes to choose from, you can easily find the perfect pair to accessorize and feel fabulous in. Natalie put together a few tips to help you find the perfect shape for your face (she just bought a classic pair of cat eye sunglasses which is so Fab on her oblong face shape she was inspired to write this post).

1- Opposites attract-chose a frame that enhances your face shape by balancing them out as opposed to reinforcing them.

Eva Mendes Square Sunglass Frames

If you have a longer face, like Eva Mendes, a square frame provides that sense of balance. You can also wear cat eyes and butterfly shaped sunglasses.

2- Fit the frame to your face. They should be over the eyebrow, at the eyebrow or just below the brow bone. The bottom should not go past the middle of your cheekbone.

Jennifer Lopez shows us how to do this perfectly with her blinged out cat eyes. With an oval face you can wear just about any sunglass shape. We’d just recommend avoiding anything too geometric.

3- Think of where you are going. The crazy heart shaped glasses that are so fun on the weekends might not be great if you are wearing them when you run into your boss for work.

Pippa in Aviator style Sunglasses

Pippa got it right here in a classic wrap dress with Aviator sunglasses. If you have a more square face shape like she does, you can also wear Oval and Wayfarer styles.

Now that you know the basics, we have a couple more face shapes to cover.

Reese Witherspoon butterfly shape sunglasses

Have a heart shaped face like Reese Witherspoon? Butterfly shaped sunglasses are very complimentary. You should also check out aviators and oval shapes.

Jennifer Goodwin Wayfarer Sunglasses

Go for a Wayfarer like Jennifer Goodwin if you have a more rounded face. Square, cat eye, and rectangular will also look nice.

Stay tuned as we talk color.  There are so many fun shades to choose from this season. Remember, as with all your style choices, when you wear your frames you should instantly feel and look fabulous. If you don’t then keep shopping!
